Representatives from the Thomas B. Norton Public Library visited the club March 22nd to share what's up at our Gulf Shores Library with the membership. Adult Programs Coordinator Amy Maliska (left) and Reference Librarian Jane Daugherty explained new educational programs at the library. If you need help learning about Ipads, Iphones, Smartphones, Kindle Readers, and more, you can get tutoring on those devices free of charge. Libraries stay "relevant" by keeping up with not only hard books, but by offering technology and programs to connect the past with the present. Thomas B. Norton Public Library is a fabulous resource that many residents do not use, but should!
Gulf Shores Middle School students display their projects to the club. These projects are an assignment developed by Math Teacher Roger Reetz designed to push students to engage math skills necessary to scale and design their "Dream House". They must be to scale, and must be able to be opened for inspection, prompting great detail in design and construction.
